Family Pics, 2009

Well, we finally had some new pics taken. The last time we had that done was back when we still lived in Quanah and Micah was around 1 1/2 years old. WOW, how time flies. Here is one pic that we got. I'll add one again soon...we are saving a few for the Christmas Card that we will be sending soon. Our friend Tena took them in her studio. She was awesome!!

4th of July Weekend

We made our first trip for the summer and went to Possum Kingdom Lake (just a bit over 2 hours from here and we had a great time! Check out our pics at http://www.dropshots.com/stephens43.

We arrived at the Trammell home and it was like we just were right back where we left off that last time. They are true hosts and it was so relaxing. The kids immediately started playing together and the adults just got to sit and talk. It was like that the entire weekend.

We had dinner and celebrated Micah's birthday (which we had no clue about..until we arrived.....) They cooked a nice dinner and we had cake and everything. The next day, we chilled out with one minor incident...(well, it turned out to be major)....Dennis and Ted were going into town for a few things and the kitty was in teh engine and he got caught in the belt and it tore his leg up pretty good. They ended up taking the cat to the vet. It was bad. He almost lost his leg. :(

We then went to a great fireworks show! It was the highlight of the weekend.

Sunday, we went to church and then went to a families home and ate supper. They cator meals alot in the summer time and this was our second time to be with them. We ate with them 2 years ago. It was like being at "Mom's house." (this is the general consensus....for most people that enter their home. They just love you while you are there and you don't want to leave....seriously!! Putting it best, it was like being a small child and having someone just showing constant love...we felt like family with them. I can't explain it. They bless us each time we see them.

We then went back to the house and rested and talked and then went to Sunday night bible study. I miss those. It was nice. Then we all went to town and ate at Taco Casa. YUM!

Monday, Cindy and the kids left for South Texas and Ted and the girls and I stayed and Ted and Dennis were able to hang out and visit. I spoiled them both all day.

We left on Tuesday and headed home and I was not feeling good., so on Wednesday, I went to the doctor and got some meds. It's Friday night now, and I'm still coughing up lungs every now and then...but I'm on the mend.

All in all, we had a great time! More pics to come in another week!

Night all.

Storms, storms, and more storms

This has been a crazy week for storms in our area. Wednesday night, I arrived at the church to get ready to do some ABF stuff and start decorating for VBS and the sky turned dark and everyone headed home. Ted had the girls at swim lessons and called me and said we had a bad storm coming. At the church, as I was leaving, we got a call that there was a tornado that had hit very close to where we were, so I made a quick escape and got home and Ted and the girls were right behind me. We entered the house and stood in the bedroom while Ted walked around unplugging everything. It was raining and the wind howled and then lightning struck somewhere near our home. We all jumped about 3 feet in to the air it seemed...Really loud....Micah yelled, "Take Cover!" Of course, her idea of taking cocer is hiding under the covers in our bed. LOL!! She was making us all laugh of course in the midst of being a bit afraid.
So, the storm passed and all was well.

The next night we had more thunder and some more rain, but nothing major.

Friday night, we were at swim lessons and the sky got dark again...we finished there and headed to the park where the kids were going to meet and play....(A planned Children's Ministry time....and when we drove up, we heard it was cancelled., so we start driving home and we are sitting at a stop light and a big crack of lightning went across the sky and Micah said, "Mom, it looked like th sky was just cracking up!" Then she laughed! Oh, the funny things that girl says.

Today, it's been hot, humid, and a fun day. Stay away storms!! You scare us.

This past week, Micah had Honor Roll awards for her grade, so I went to her class and took a pic of a piece of her work and then got a pic of her going to get her award. Today, she had a project due, where she dressed up like the lady who created Nestle Tollhouse Cookies....she was decked out and did a great job presenting.

Easter and a few bluebonnets

Yes, it's really me, and yes, you are really reading my blog.....it's been really neglected for about a good month or two, so here's a quick update....
Spring break Ted and his Dad got the fence finished. They worked for 3 days and did a great job. Hannah and Micah helped alot too. They loved helping Daddy!
We celebrated Easter and had a nice day together and enjoyed the evening with our good friends, Bryan and Chris, Preston and Timothy. This is year 2 for us being together and we had a blast eating, fellowshipping, and watching the kids hunt eggs.
The girls also received a package from Om and Papa for Easter. They loved all the goodies and their new beach towels for all the swimming they are going to do.

Oh, in the mids of all this, Micah had a front tooth that just didn't want to come out, so Ted told Micah, I can pull your tooth and brave litle Micah let him. She layed down in the bathroom on the countertop and he put thread around it and pulled it.....so she is officially waiting for those front teeth. She is one brave soul!

I got to take the girls to find some bluebonnets and they enjoyed that even though they didn't feel like being very cooperative with the camera....(I really think this might have been our last year for this....kinda makes me sad, but at least they let me snap a few pics....)
We are on the downhill slide for the school year and this week is TAKS testing. Please be in prayer for Hannah. She's nervous and Ted and I are a bit nervous for her. She works so hard!
